Meet Our British Farmers
Published on 30th Sep, 2025

At Morrisons, we're committed to top-quality fresh food, which is why we source more products directly from British farmers than any other supermarket. By choosing our Market Street fresh, seasonal produce, you're not only enjoying something delicious but also making a sustainable choice that supports our hardworking British farming community.
We work with a wide variety of farming sectors, from cows and pigs to eggs and bedding plants. Read on to learn more about where our produce comes from and follow the journey from field to fork.
British Beef Farm
Meet Tom Heath, one of the dedicated beef farmers we work with in Staffordshire, where his family has farmed since 1948. On his farm, they're embracing sustainability with solar panels and a natural spring providing water for their cattle. They're also taking action on climate change by carrying out carbon audits to spot and fix any inefficiencies on their journey to net zero. Watch the full video below to learn more.
British Potato & Carrot Farming
We've worked with Andrew for over 10 years, supplying potatoes to our Gadbrook and Rushton manufacturing sites. Andrew farms over 250 acres and 6,000 tonnes of potatoes in the heart of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire. He also farms 100 acres and 4,500 tonnes of carrots, which he's more recently started supplying to our Flaxby facility. Watch the video below to learn more about Andrew, his produce and the sustainability initiatives on the farm.
British Pig Farm
Meet Simon Watchorn, Pig Farmer at Earsham Park Farm as he tells us how his pigs are looked after, how important it is to share his work with our customers, and why working with Morrisons means so much to him.
Our British Blackberries

British Bedding Plants Farming
J&J Thompson and Sons was started by Sam's grandfather in the 1950s. He now produces around 30 million bedding plants a year, using up to 80 tonnes of compost per week.
Our British Milk
Ian Barker at his 250-acre North Hill Farm milks 150 cows twice a day, 7 days a week - producing 1.3million litres of milk a year. Watch as he invites us to see what happens on 'Turnout Day'.
Our British Cheese
Mary Quicke's family have been on her farm in the Devon countryside for 14 generations, and they've been supplying Morrisons with Cheddar cheese since 2004. See what Mary loves about her job and how her cheese is made.
Free Range British Egg Farm
The hens on Sarah Louise Fairburn's family farms lay over 16 million eggs every week, many of which are sold in Morrisons stores. Watch the video to see the journey of a free range egg from the laying house, through the state of the art packing area and out to our stores.
As you can see, the journey of your food is a passionate one. We believe that great food starts with great people, and we're proud to work directly with brilliant British farmers, growers, and producers.
